It’s the same psychological effect as when a kid is so unpopular they start bragging that they’re getting molested. Hitler is basically that. If nobody else likes you, at least some murderous dictator who died 80 years ago wrote a book that said people who look like you are smart. He wasn’t talking about you directly as an individual, but you can imagine he was and think you’re special. Even though there are like a billion white people between America and Europe, so it isn’t really that special is it?

Then they try and offend other people because they tell themselves in their own mind that people are offended by their existence because other people are envious of them. When really it’s more disgust than envy. A racist is sorta like a cockroach. It doesn’t need a head to keep scurrying around.
