Random thing, but the universal declaration of human rights by the United Nations states that people have a right to choice of work. So under international law forcing someone to work a specific job even if you pay them is technically a form of slavery if they don’t have the ability to legally quit that job. So there’s an argument to be made that drafting people technically violates international law.
