Maybe I’m crazy for saying this, but I’ve noticed a lot of alt right people hate communism. I don’t consider myself to be a communist. But to be honest, as a black dude, whenever I’m around Chinese people or I see Chinese government propaganda, is it weird if I actually feel less threatened by China’s ideology? Because I’m a college student and there are loads of Chinese international students and I’ve never really had problems with them. And then communism, people argue that "communism doesn’t work" but the ideological foundation of Marxism in general seems to be a radical pursuit of economic equality. Which could be misguided, but it doesn’t seem inherently evil. Meanwhile alt right Americans want to be able to say I’m inferior for being born and don’t deserve to be successful. Everyone tells me that China is a worse for the world than America. I genuinely think authoritarianism is bad and I’m not a communist and I don’t like the Chinese government. But at the same time, I find it kind of hard to convince myself that those people are actually worse for the world than America is. Idk if that sounds crazy.

Like hypothetically, if I had to decide between two fates for Africa: either Africa was conquered by alt right white people and forced to abide by their values or Africa was conquered by Chinese communists and forced to abide by their values. I’m not saying either would go well, but I feel like under the second scenario black people would probably still exist, but under the first scenario I’m not really sure about that.

Basically: if a black person went to China today, I’m not saying that they would be treated well but they almost certainly wouldn’t die. But if a black person went to Nazi Germany, they almost certainly would die. And alt right Americans, they don’t call themselves Nazis, but they sorta like the same stuff. And the logical end of that isn’t great…

Or the thing with free speech absolutists is, free speech absolutists want to defend Nazis who say that black people basically shouldn’t exist because they think the right to free speech is the most fundamental human right. But the thing is, I can shut up but I can’t turn white. Like I think democracy is important, but there are some things that are more important to me than democracy is, like the existence of my race. And I think there might be certain situations where self preservation would supersede beliefs I have about freedom or human rights. Like right now in America we live in a society where freedom of speech exists. But if I had absolute power to protect my people, I’m not sure how much patience I’d have with that kinda stuff.

Like I get that people can speak their minds. But what’s been said once doesn’t need to be said twice. If you say something twice that isn’t really preventing any speech that hasn’t yet been spoken so it isn’t really violating human rights of any sort. But how many warnings do you give someone before you shoot them? Some people will use up any number of warnings you give them. So at most one. More than that I don’t see the point of, it would just be arbitrary. It’s not even a cruel or vengeful thing to make an example out of anybody. It’s just one day you’re there, the next day you’re not, everybody moves on. It shouldn’t be made into a huge deal.

Chinese people are wonderful. Their government is not as bad as some Westerners think, but it's far from ideal. It's a one-party, authoritarian state.

A thought I’ve had a while ago is if there are only two parties in America fighting each other and neither ever completely wins, what happens when one of them finally does beat out the other?

Because I think it started on the right, that right wingers became totally culturally opposed to anything left wing. But now, at least with younger left wing people like in their 20s, I’ve noticed some of them are starting to have the same sentiment about the right. And it might take a decade, but at some point, they’re not going to be able to coexist under one constitution.

Then we have a China. It's already happening under the new fascist.

Although it might not. They just barely have a majority in the house and senate so they basically need every single republican member of congress to unanimously agree on everything in order to get anything passed. And so far it seems like even before Trump is in office, they’re already fighting with each other over immigration and whatnot. If it does happen, it will just barely happen, and if it doesn’t happen, it just barely won’t happen. So idk. Don’t really wanna stay for years and years and find out though.
