How come alt right rednecks like Japan? It doesn’t really make sense. Because they don’t like the Arabs because the Arabs flew some planes into buildings and they aren’t Christian. But then the Japanese, they aren’t Christian and they flew planes into ships. It doesn’t make sense.
Then when rednecks say why they like Japan: Japan is safe, Japan is clean, Japan is wealthy, Japanese people are respectful, Japan does scientific research, Japanese people follow the rules… white people from Alabama are none of those things. They’re dirty poor trailer park cockroach eating confederate flag wearing uneducated fat people who don’t believe in science or evolution and don’t believe in the concept of respect for others.
I mean okay: do a google image search for "Japanese redneck." If it existed it would be googleable. The best you’ll find is some AI generated images of Asian shitless men in cowboy hats. Japanese rednecks don’t exist. It’s not a real thing on the periodic table of racial elements.

Then alt right people have all theses theories about how "Japan is totally different than China bro" but like, I sound like the racist one here… but can anybody tell the fucking difference? They all look the same! And Kanji? Kanji isn’t a real writing system, it’s just Chinese with a different name.

Japan today is very different from WWII Japan. Even so, Japanese social rules of politeness would not tolerate some right wing redneck praising Trump and constantly talking about religion and hating the poor and minorities. They would be quickly ostracized.

Literally… I hate saying this, but I am convinced that China and Japan are the same culture. China is just Japan if Japan was normal. Japan - Anime + Communism = China.

TBH, it isn’t really dependent on whether Japanese people like Trump or not. Different people have various biases about gender or ideology or whatever. The main thing I’m getting at is it’s weird that white people who don’t like minorities and don’t like cultures that are different have a weird fetish for a culture that has like nothing to do with what they are.

We don't. But we'll tolerate an old nissan/toyota truck in the neighborhood I guess - good for dump runs or whatever. And our kids are into vidya games and pokiemons or whatever, they can have hobbies.

Tbh, I get that Japan is a democracy and China is communist, but China makes more sense to me than Japan. Japan, a country of non-white people decided to ally themselves with a genocidal white supremacist then lost a war to a country that put Japanese people in concentration camps and firebombed and nuked their cities. Meanwhile, China was just anti-western the whole time. I’m not saying authoritarism is good, but I feel like the Chinese throughout history have been smarter about knowing where to place their allegiance.

Like I’m not saying the CCP did nothing wrong, all I’m saying is, you really wouldn’t expect a country to turn out well in those circumstances. They did bad things obviously, but famine and war and dictators generally tend to happen in countries that get invaded while a civil war is happening at the same time. It would be like expecting Syria to suddenly become a prosperous democratic society just because some Islamic fundamentalists defeated a dictator in a war torn country. It’s the same difference with the CCP. That’s just what tends to happen most of the time.

Then we can have independence for all the different ethnic groups in non-Mandarin speaking parts of China, and everything will be okay, and China will be democratic and capitalist, and we totally won’t end up with a Chinese Putin who’s actually more aggressive and just as authoritarian.
