that it deems lacking some bullshit requirement for Windows 11. If piles of such ewaste can be avoided, perhaps Linux enthusiasts will have more machines to play with

Is this truly the year of Linux desktop?

Dude this is like the XP shit ten years ago. It's been ten years of Windows 10 and it's time to let go.

> muh ewaste

Go get some old shit Pentium 4 out of a dumpster and put Lunix on it then.

I mean, do it again I guess. Buy a nice PC with Win 11 and run it another 10 years.

I refuse to think these PCs from 8 years ago are perfectly fine - that's end of life even for hardware dorks. Time to upgrade grandma.

Yes, which is why Microsoft recently officially removed the TPM 2.0 "requirement" for installing Win11.

How do you know someone installed Linux on their aunt's 15 year old PC? They'll post about it online.

How do you know someone bought a new Windows machine? Unless you stake out a store and look for people leaving with a large box, you won't.

Even I stopped messing with those dinosaurs. 32 bit is a waste of time and power lol. The last box I got had a Phenom II in it (was 64-bit at least). It sounded like a cool idea until my power bill was $20 higher the next month.
