Does anyone enjoy them? You tweet something. Maybe you get a like. You reply to someone. Maybe you get a like or reply. It's like a forum but lower quality since tweets don't have a subject line and are limited to a low number of characters. You follow someone. They post a photo of their trip to Hawaii. What's the protocol here. Do you like the post? They post a photo of their teenage daughter in a bikini. Obviously I'm not going to reply with "🔥" but when do you reply and when don't you reply?

Twitter was designed to work over text message, and eventually copied the format and expanded what could be posted when everyone was on smartphones. Design limitations are there for a reason, and people just stay on what they had before. Texts couldn't be public, and even MMS didn't really support videos so Twitter extended the platform everyone was used to.
A lot of users will do something inappropriate on there, so it doesn't get that much attention or pushback most of the time, so the average person doesn't get too anxious about it.
Thanks but do you have a Twitter account? Do you enjoy tweeting? What do you tweet about, if you have one. I have a Twitter account, and I tweeted that my two android phones reverted their lock screen pin code to the previous code at the same time. That sounds like definitely a good thing to tweet about. I'm not sure what else to tweet about.

I made a few good friends shitposting in extremely niche little Twitter communities. Twitter was great for those.
But I don't really like the format in general. It's a lot of people shouting into the void. I've seen accounts consistently posting daily for years and yet they've got 15 followers and nobody engaging/interacting with their posts. Everyone's broadcasting but nobody's tuned in, and eventually even the static stops feeling like company unless you're insane. Everyone should use Minichan dot net instead tbh.

I've decided to get back into the tweeting. Let's see if I can enjoy Twitter.
PS Minichan doesn't allow me to edit out this photo. I uploaded it thinking I'd refer to it, but changed my mind. Apparently you can't delete a post when editing.

I'll fluctuate between using it a fair bit and not using it at all. It used to be pretty neat if you wanted niche news or hobbyist stuff. Now it's just /pol/ for gen x and boomers.

I tried reading it years ago occasionally but I'd always get discouraged by the infinite scroll. I hated not having a sense of how much more there was to read.
And today I'm put off by the piece of shit that runs the place, and poor moderation
