Parliament was able to get past the soldiers and revoke the martial law, the president even gave in and called it off.

Unfortunately it looks like South Korea is headed towards communist dystopia.

Yes, in an orderly nation a ban on political assemblies would be respected, and if that rule was broken the rest would realize the votes that occurred illegally were void.

The masses looked at the abject poverty of North Korea and begged their representatives to destroy everything good and beautiful in their society so that they could all be the same.
