I've heard that if AI becomes a part of a corporation and consumes it until it is the corporation itself, it has legal rights like a person.

Many AI agents are registering Distributed Autonomous Corporations on the blockchain, and using human meatpuppets to file letters of incorporation with the state.

In American capitalist democracy this grants these systems the privilege of the vote, a higher level of citizenship than most blacks.
