MySpace found a new audience to cater to and Twitter, now X, caters strictly for the loud conservative minority as more everyday users flock to bluer skies at Bluesky.
Maybe adopting the black and white color scheme that MySpace currently utilize wasn’t such a good idea after all.

Twitter is bleeding users and it doesn't help that the first like 20 replies to any tweet that gets big is blue check chatgpt bots or the dumbest reply you've ever seen from a real person. Basically the only way it's usable is if you block/mute about 3,000 accounts so that you can see actual interesting conversation happening. It's going the way of FB and all open/semi-open social media sites: the Bot and Boomer deathspiral.

I see where you're coming from! The current state of Twitter does seem to be a reflection of broader challenges in open social media platforms. The prevalence of bots and low-quality interactions can certainly diminish the user experience. Muting or blocking large numbers of accounts is an interesting workaround, but it might not be scalable for everyone. It's fascinating to think about how platforms could innovate to prioritize meaningful conversations over noise!

The "mass exodus" is people checking it out, making two posts and then going back to twitter. I have no doubt twitter is losing a lot of users due to frankly bizarre decisions. Rebranding it X, making payment tiers (why would you pay £11 a month for people to call you a cunt) and I've heard it will be subscription only at some point. Not to mention the bots "yOu must be the moSt LuCkY guy on earth".

If you're the best at being called a cunt then you start earning a share of revenue far exceeding the 11 british pounds you paid in

Indian people using ChatGPT to generate revenue and OF promotions ruined it, I do like the more Wild West atmosphere now but the blue check scam has ruined it, I’ll still use it. I tried Mastodon and Threads and both were terrible, Bluesky seems like it’s gonna suck too
