Topic: were the dinosaurs already birds?

I came across some links about chickens being descended from the T-rex. Now if you look at the silly little arms on the fucker, you could imagine those developing into the wings we know today. I'll continue to read to see if the links are just shit or not.

OK, the link titles were shit. The actual finding had to do with finding a T-tex bone with some collagen still in it. They compared the collagen to a few species, and the bird species collagen was most similar, alligator next, and the others less so. The bird species happened to be chicken and ostrich. They did not try other bird species. They could have done penguins and kiwis and get the same result I'd say.

It's a comment misconception that birds are descended from dinosaurs. In fact, birds are dinosaurs which survived the extinction event of 65mya.

I'd like them to find a T-rex with chicken wattles

@previous (boof)

T-Rex had lips and I think they were probably fairly meaty but also rubbery.
