In my state the local leaders have gotten lazy (will show up for an event dinner then vanish for a couple of years until the next election). I don't mind an occasional Republican to have a seat and keep them on their toes (so long as they aren't ranting about a pet project like voter transparency or zoning laws or some shit). The moderates won't 2025 it: too crazy.
