Topic: I need strategic advice in Stellaris

Anonymous A started this discussion 1 year ago #121,087

So two fallen empires have awaken, and they have declared war on each other and they are forcing the others to take a side. So far i have not been forced. Should I just try to sit it out? Maybe get stronger in the meantime? I'm close to maxing all defenses on the borders and even have like a half a million fleet strength. I'm like 60 years away from creating galactic wonders. I could also open the l gates and hope whatever comes out of that will take care of the awaken empires idk

Wait for as long as possible and side with the winning team.

But suddenly I don't want to choose a side anyways. Yet it seems that if I don't get the chance to research some debris from one of their destroyed ships, I don't get my hands on that sweet ancient tech and will pay for it in future wars. I'm a little tempted to aid the others still fighting and split my fleet in half to maybe just maybe get a chance to research their shit. They are far away though.

Hell yes stellaris! I think when they go to war your best bet is stay out of it directly yeah. If you do get dragged into it, you don't actually need to send any fleets or fight I think? L-gate strat is risky. Could be useless, could help, or could mess you up if the L gate people come out hostile near your territory. I wouldn't do it unless a fE fleet was headed your way directly.

If you do go to war, make sure you make any claims on systems prior to the declaration. I think the cost goes up in an offensive war and you can snag some handy systems at a good price if you play it right.

Okay that's two votes for wait and see. I suppose researching debris is easier within my own borders if I should end up having to fight them anyway.

It's a very scary situation, I'm not even sure if I should split my fleet up or not.

More fool you son. Next time just impose ironman rules on yourself in a casual game so you can occasionally make exceptions.

The unbbiden spawned. Sure am glad I didn't send my guys to die for some debris. I was considering letting the unbbiden create more chaos for everyone except me but I fear they may get stronger with time so I took care of some and I've killed three times as much as everyone else.
