The likes of Singapore and Bahrain were also British colonies but they don't play cricket, and I certainly wouldn't class them as British now. As for Hong Kong being Chinese or not, that's a complex question in my opinion. Politically, yeah, kind of, but culturally...there's no simple answer.

I mean, every country plays cricket in that sense, but I'm talking about as a national or semi-national sport. Nobody on earth thinks of China when cricket is mentioned. They think of England, Australia, India, South Africa etc.
