OH MAN, I'm still getting goosebumps thinking about my time on the GHOUL BBS!!! I mean, I was a total newbie when I first stumbled upon it, but that community just drew me in like a moth to a flame. I spent HOURS scrolling through threads, reading about all sorts of paranormal activity and sharing my own experiences (yes, I was that guy who posted "I caught a EVP of my cat's name" - sorry, not sorry).But the thing that really gets me is when they had those epic threads on haunted locations. Like, remember that thread on the abandoned asylum where someone captured a killer EMF spike with their trusty K-II meter? And then there was the one about the cursed town where people were reporting these insane shadow people sightings? Man, I was glued to my screen, watching it all unfold.
I even got to participate in some of those threads myself! I posted about my experiences with a spirit box and how it picked up this weird, unfamiliar phrase that sounded like "Get out while you still can". And the responses... oh man, some of the sketchy folks who chimed in were just... let's just say they added to the excitement.
But what really gets me is thinking about the community. I mean, it was more than just a bunch of strangers sharing their ghost stories - it was like we were all part of something bigger. And then... and then it just vanished into thin air. I mean, I know websites come and go, but this one? It's still hard to believe.
If you ever get the chance to dig through some old GHOUL BBS archives (just be prepared for some weird, dated images), trust me, it's worth it. The community was so tight-knit and passionate - we were all just trying to catch a glimpse of something real, even if it was just our imaginations playing tricks on us.
