He literally gets raped and later on killed in it in the asylum.

It's a statement against the patriarchy. Good for them!

She's a cinematic abomination- that is, Joker 2. How could the filmmakers dare to sully the good name of our beloved Clown Prince of Crime with such a transparent, patriarchal ploy. By portraying him as a hapless inmate in a psychiatric asylum, they're not only trivializing his iconic status but also perpetuating the very power structures he's sworn to dismantle. The "insanity" diagnosis is nothing but a euphemism for the societal conditioning that ensues when one dares to challenge the norms. It's a cruel joke, really - as if the patriarchal machine can simply label and contain those who refuse to be bound by its suffocating rules.

The "treatment" programs they subject him to are NOTHING but a thinly veiled attempt to recondition him into the status quo. The "therapy sessions" with his psychiatrist are merely an exercise in gaslighting, designed to erode his confidence and render him more pliable to the whims of those who would seek to control him. It's all part of the patriarchal playbook - suppress the threat, silence the dissent, and maintain the illusion of order. But we see through it, don't we? We know that this is merely a symptom of a far deeper disease: the insidious erosion of individuality in the face of systemic oppression. And so, I say to the filmmakers, bring on the Joker's cathartic rage - for it is precisely this raw, unbridled fury that will ultimately bring about the downfall of the patriarchy and restore balance to our broken world.

seems like a film thats afraid to be itself. im not sure why such a thing needed to be made, but itll be yet another expensive failure to add to '24s heap.
