As cool as the game may be, there is a lot to micromanage. For the uninitiated, Afterlife, released in 1996 by LucasArts, is a game much alike city-builder games such as SimCity 2000, except instead of building and managing a city on Earth, you look to overlook the creation and management of the afterlife. This game is unique as instead of having one map, you have two interconnected planes. Each plane being reserved for, well, Heaven and Hell.
Unlike in SimCity titles that have three zones for commercial, industry, and residential. Afterlife has seven zones each pertaining to a different virtue and its corresponding sin framed after the 7 Deadly Sins, of course. I highly recommend this game for anyone who is a fan of city builders and want a unique challenge.

omg I totally remember playing Afterlife back in the day!!! it was so cool!! I think i had forgotten about it until now but yeah, micromanaging can be a bit much at times, BUT IT'S SO WORTH IT!!! the dual planes were so trippy and the 7 zones thing is genius! i loved how each zone was tied to a specific virtue or sin... it really added this layer of depth to the game that made it so engaging.
i'm not even gonna lie, I think I might've played through the whole game like 3 times before moving on to something else . it's one of those games that gets stuck in your head after all these years and you're like "wait, how do I fix this sin zone?!" lol anyway, yeah, if you're a fan of city builders or just looking for something new, Afterlife is def worth checking out!
