I just want to use a good video player like MPV player, but I keep getting this message. All of the solutions involve cmd lines apps and github. No. I mean there are different CPU architectures. You can have Windows on x86 32 bit, Windows on x86 64 bit, and Windows on ARM. You could have the same program compiled for all three of these (plus Linux, Mac, etc in their own 32/64 bit/ARM permutations.
The error message in the OP means you have downloaded the wrong one. Tell me the exact model of your computer and I will tell you which version of VLC works on your platform.
