This episode (Spoilers ahead):
Bad. As expected. The main problem is that they shift the focus of the plot far too often to try to put as much of the new twist into this episode. Obviously that's why they broke it up in a "To Be Continued..." ending. I'll watch that before I make a strong judgement, however, Ashton Kutcher's character seems silly, dim-witted, and a really bad foil for any kind of real comedic value that Charlie Sheen had. It's trying too hard, and the added laugh track just re-inforces how terrible the comedy/writing is. They pander too much to try to prop his character up on a pedestal (Oh, he's rich, he's good looking, he has a big penis). The absurdity of the transition from Charlie to Ashton is extremely fabricated and unbelievable; there is no real fluid motion between the two. The most atrocious aspect of this episode was how they trivialize death: Charlie's funeral is treated with his past flings interrupting the service to mention the bad things he did to them, and even his own mother uses it as a platform to market his house for sale. The only person who seems remotely saddened by his death is his brother Alan; even then they further make his death seem frivolous by having his ashes spill all over the house, and then suggesting he will use a dustbuster to collect the ashes. Unless things change drastically in the next episode, I don't see this series living past this single season.

I've heard this show is horrible, and it was the terrible writing, not drugs, that drove Charlie insane.
