Topic: FAO: Matt; I fucked up

I recently took a side job cleaning some rich dudes house. It was pretty dusty and dirty so I offered to do it and he agreed. It's good when people have enough money they don't have to think about offering a lot for stuff like that.

Anyway I went into a room and it had a bunch of red wine bottles. And they were very dusty and dirty. I was in a rush so I put them into the dishwasher to clean them and then put them in the fridge so they cooled down.

The guys sister came in and saw me taking them out of the dishwasher and lost her shit with me, she kept shouting how I don't understand, I don't understand. Apparently they were her grandad's bottles? She should probably be glad I cleaned them but she wasn't.

So... How fucked am I? Have I ruined the patina of the bottles or something? I don't know how wine works.

I would feel comfortable serving this wine to Western guests who are educated about wine. I would pair it with a mild Swiss cheese, or with roasted chicken.

Probably just did not want anyone touching them. No reason not to clean them, but too mu ch handling could harm or break them.

All I did was take them from the room to the kitchen, it's not far. Thanks, I was wondering if I'd have to buy more or something with the way she was shrieking.

What language? And if they are valuable and one of a kind and have emotional value, then they probably just do not want people handling them just to be safe.

French, I think. Leroy something something.

I spoke to the guy and he said I have probably damaged the wine inside. He's going to speak to an expert and get back to me. I don't know what that means but I'm sweating.

Some wine can be delicate so that manhandling it around could affect it, but not just like carrying it
