Remember that his statement was in response to Dinesh DeSouza's comment about cliches in reporting. Commenters always say some terrible thing was a "cowardly act" whether or not that makes any sense. Also keep in mind that DeSouza is a hired propagandist who later went on to be convicted of felonies and then pardoned by fellow felon Trump.
