I throw the manager a bone. Yes, I'm soooooo sorry I forgot to sign the reports and I was 3 minutes late that day. If they know what's good for them we all walk away from pointless time wastes and get some actual work done.

That is a good point. The things I've heard managers say to keep their bonuses - I can't tell if they actually believe the religion they're shilling or just stepping on people to climb to the top.
