Fucking hell since when are they allowed to search on you because you look nervous? And what was the deal about entering the home of someone that I swore wasn't my friend that I was gonna visit? It was just some dude going into his house. I told them they are doing a piss poor job and that they are bad people.

I left after one of them gave me a ticket, then the same guy parked the car and joined in on harassing the other guy who was going into his home. I hate the fact that I gave them the name of the man I'm going to visit but now I just have to deal with the images of my fragile ego, the images of me murdering both of them.

Looking nervous isn't a crime, next time be cordial and ask what the purpose of the traffic stop is. In California, bicyclists can be the subject of investigative traffic stops, and you are required to identify yourself. If no reasonable suspicion of a crime can be articulated you should be free to go. I'm not sure why you consented to a search of your person, that sounds like it's on you. Why did you do that? You were improperly carrying a joint with no tax stamp so they were right in confiscating it, once discovered. Did you assert your 4th amendment right to privacy or not?
I did say that they have no right but they said they are going to do it anyway because I looked nervous and that made me suspicion. The ticket is for 1 joint

I've just spent the last three weeks in Canada and idk if I'm just oblivious or the cops there are just stealthier but I saw very few cops. The most I ever saw were in the big cities, but only sprinkled about here and there, whereas in our big cities you can't walk a block without seeing a half dozen cop cars. Driving the highways between towns I didn't see a single one. In towns, sometimes one occasionally, but in between literally not one and I drove from Toronto to Alaska. And sure enough, as soon as I cross into Alaska, the first smallish town I drove through, tons of cops!

Rambling because I just spent three days in my car driving and I'm engrossed in the euphoria of having had my first hot shower and an actual bed since then but I think the point I had in my head before I started typing was that it sucks how our entire law enforcement is built on a system of intimidation where normal people can't go anywhere or even do anything innocuous like be in the general vicinity of someone smoking a joint without being afraid of a nearby cop having a bad day and fucking them for life

If you hurry you may still be able to get your joint back. At the cost of legal fees and potentially being further targeted by the local police. But maybe you won't have to pay that ticket, if it's found that the search was unconstitutional
