Topic: Paying half of rent for mommy
Anonymous A started this discussion 1 year ago #120,093 After all, I am living in my mom's house. I thought this would be a great way to help her financially without my wallet suffering too much, in top of this I also walk her dog.
Thing is though, she's alcoholic and nobody in the family seems to understand what I'm doing for our mother and least of all my mom.

She'd booze just as much without my help, except maybe half starving while at it.

No, here's the most fucked up thing, she then in return helps other family members out.

Nha I'm just going to start looking for a place. It's just weird how I always get into fucked up scenarios. One after another, it's like I'm cursed.

I heard that's how you lost your balls, you got them twisted.

That's not what's wrong lol. I even said so myself what you are saying. Sometimes kook, sometimes.
The problem is that I don't really want to live there, I could find something way cheaper and nicer. But I worry about how she's going to suddenly pay half the rent. Might be ugly scenarios like eviction.

How much do you pay in rent?
Anonymous A (OP) replied with this 1 year ago , 1 minute later, 2 hours after the original post[^] [v] #1,314,942 @previous (Kook !!rcSrAtaAC)
Well I pay half of it, around 700
Kook !!rcSrAtaAC replied with this 1 year ago , 1 minute later, 2 hours after the original post[^] [v] #1,314,943 @previous (A)
Is she hard to live with? 700 is not very expensive

As a man who should have his own home, yeah it's hard. Just going to say that.
Anonymous F joined in and replied with this 1 year ago , 3 minutes later, 2 hours after the original post[^] [v] #1,314,947 Families should live together. That's the natural way. The modern, American way of everyone splitting up and living in totally different houses, even in the same town, is so unnatural and cold.

I think you might like Thailand. I've heard families live together there big time, not just grandparents or siblings.

That's most of the Middle and Far East. I think it's a superior way.

Siblings... Parents... Or a partner and maybe even a kid or two?

No, as an adult. We had a multi generational household. It was great
