A light skinned half-jamaican and half-indian is not going to have the same experience as someone who is just black.

Only white people treat anyone with "one drop" of black ancestry as black. Within the black community being dark and light skinned are seen as different. Many light skinned people are considered white passing, and don't get the same experience that fully black do.
