I feel like they have severely misrepresented those of us with extreme cases of gender dysphoria and even went as far to say that this shouldn’t even be a thing.
I medically and legally transitioned and yet I still always have to face the unsavory reality that I’ll never be whole. I’ll never have a uterus to carry a child to full term. I’ll never periods (note: I’m aware I can have a time of the month, I’m specifically referring to ‘the bleeding’). Transitioning got so close to being whole but at the end of the day it’s always going to be at 90%.
If anything, the term ‘gender dysphoria’ doesn’t feel applicable for my case. Gender is a societal construct and one that likely served many like me in historic periods when medical transitioning wasn’t a thing. I think what I have cannot be cured or treated. I think I have sex dysphoria.
