Assuming they're not making it up, as far as I can see it looks like a person (not Crooks) travelled several times between Crooks' home & workplace in PA, and Washington DC, very near an FBI office and also close to secret service HQ.

That is just what downtown DC is like. Sometimes you'll walk around a park and then see some random government agency building next to it. Off the top of my head I couldn't tell you where the USSS HQ is but if you checked my phone logs I probably pass it every day on my commute or something.

OK just looked it up and the Secret Service HQ is 2 buildings away from Metro Center, the busiest subway station in DC. So basically someone who rides the DC subway also visited somewhere near where Crooks lived. This is a non-story until some actual meaningful information shows up.

Not just vaguely near, but very near. Almost as if they entered the specific building. Bluetooth beacons and 5G towers vastly increase the granularity of this data compared to older data collected from 3G and 4G towers you may be familiar with

As you can tell by the big Capitol One Arena in the thread they posted, they found someone who visited or works at an office building in the middle of downtown DC. I frequently walk past there after work or just on weekends. If there were some obscure FBI office way out in the middle of nowhere then there might be something to talk about. But there's a movie theater and a gym and a ton of restaurants in that building. If he had a cousin who works at a District Fried Chicken then that person would be a fed according to this.

I know. I lived just outside DC for a year and regularly used to go in - whole bunch of museums and galleries and the Capital One Arena all crammed in the same general area too. The SS HQ is on H St, between 9th & 10th.
