A while back I decided to purchase the remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door for the Nintendo Switch and needless to say that I do not regret it. Not only is this game a feast for the eyes with its colorful and cartoony nature radiating beauty only found upon a canvas. The paper and cardboard aesthetic used to replicate a stage gives this game a sort of Shakespearian play vibe that is unmatched by other Mario games.
This game provides plenty of fun with its turn-based gameplay mechanics and immersive world. Both within the main story and from the perspective of the audience. A lot of the characters you meet along the way all have their own unique backgrounds, including those of NPCs, and what makes this remake special is the restoration of a character trait for that of Vivian. One of only two transgender characters within the Mario universe. The first being Birdo, of course.
This game is a fun and tense at the same time. This game is definitely giving off a no nonsense attitude when it comes to not only its playability and intriguing world, but it’s colorful aesthetic in the form of stage storytelling that could sooth any cynic.
I highly recommend anyone play this game. It’s not available for the Nintendo Switch wherever video games are sold.

I might be biased, but Yoshi's Island for the SNES did the 'crayon art' thing a little better than the cutout art going on here, but still, that looks solid.
