It was dystopic and kind of depressing, but I enjoyed it. I'm not sure why it went all jap towards the third act.

It depends on which character. Keep in mind, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now a multiverse and different iterations of the same character are now called variants. Robert Downey, Jr. is playing Dr. Doom for fucks sake.
