I figure any less than 1.00, all get the boot except 0.10 and 0.50

I can't figure out why it all isn't digital yet.

Just keep devaluing your money until 1 dollar is like 20 cents and then stop using cents in prices. Oh wait, America has already done that but kept the cents for literally no reason

Well you could just pay by card

Don't worry, that's already happening. Did you know that when you pay in cash you are subsidizing credit card transaction fees, because legally stores cannot offer a separate price for card transactions thanks to Visa and Mastercard lobbyists? It's true!

It's still way more expensive to accept cash than credit cards

Anonymous B replied with this 1 year ago, 31 minutes later, 17 hours after the original post[^] [v] #1,311,292

@previous (dw !p9hU6ckyqw)

That isn't true. With cash, nobody takes a chunk out of it for the transaction.

It has to be brought and taken from the store by security vans and the bank takes a percentage too

@previous (dw !p9hU6ckyqw)

It doesn't always, many small businesses just get it themselves and any cash charges are less than the card charges.

There's always cryptocurrency, the store can be its own bank and stop abstracting away the transaction fees 😎

I know what you're thinking: hey fuckhead, you left out India. OK then

No it's not more expensive, for instance you could use dogecoin for everyday purchases. Very cheap fees, vastly, vastly cheaper than Visa card transaction fees

However, your suppliers would like to have dollars, not dogecoin.

@previous (B)
So? You trade the dogecoin for dollars and only pay 0.25% trading fee on an exchange. Wow very cheap! Or you keep paying up to 5% per transaction to Visa and pass the damage on to your customers

Anonymous B replied with this 1 year ago, 1 minute later, 1 day after the original post[^] [v] #1,311,378

@previous (E)

Unfortunately when you accepted dogecoin it was worth 25% more than it is today, so you have lost a lot of money.

Meanwhile fiat currencies continue to suffer from rampant inflation at several percent per year, double or triple digit inflation in some cases. a guaranteed loss of value if you store cash for any amount of time

Then there's no problem, sell your dogecoin to buy more shit from your suppliers.
