Yes, it is the letter j, in Morse code that is ● ▬ ▬ ▬.
A mnemonic is to imagine lowercase and uppercase jJ together, where the uppercase J has a horizontal bar at the top. The vertical parts of the letters fall to horizontal orientation with the other horizontal bar as the curved parts fade, and the dot of the lowercase j falls to the left of the three horizontal bars to form ● ▬ ▬ ▬.
Try for practice:
● ▬ ▬ ▬ ▬ ▬ ▬ ●●● ●●●●
● ▬ ▬ ▬ ● ▬ ● ▬ ▬
▬ ▬ ● ▬ ● ▬ ▬ ▬ ▬ ▬ ▬ r
● ▬ d ● ▬ ▬ ▬ ● c ▬ ●● v ●

This mnemonic is hard
Why don't you instead have a dot in the curve of the J, and the bar at the top turns into three and topple to the right, as the J section falls sideways and fades away to leave .---
