Pence was really boring and had no charisma. He was a clone of W designed to get the bumpkin Christian vote. Trump no longer needs to worry about getting the bumpkin Christian vote so he went with a junior senator from Ohio who doesn’t have any experience and really doesn’t appeal to anyoen
