I found a guy who runs a typewriter repair shop in Riverside, CA and now my typewriter (Remington 333) is operating perfectly. I even asked if he needed any more help during the shop and he told me that he would hire me but he doesn't have enough business to warrant it due to it being a niche market. I even offered to volunteer my time there. So, he has my name and number down. I might have a new place to volunteer my time at that I enjoy AND I can use my typewriter to its fullest potential. I'm so happy. Typewriters are awesome!

I didn't realize there were enough hipsters in town to support a shop at all - pretty nuts but kind of cool.
I got a bud that still shoots 35mm film and he says photo shops are pretty much done at this point (wedding and school photos can keep one open on life support).
Photo dev is pretty much done but there are some that have successfully pivoted to printing snaps, enlargements and gifts (cushions, canvas, T Shirts etc) from mobile phones

I like mechanical wonders such as those typewriters. Camera films are gigantically a pain the ass for me, though I like the whole history and technology of it

You left your typewriter at my apartment
Straight from the Tortured Poets Department
I think some things I never say
Like, "Who uses typewriters anyway?" But
You're in self-sabotage mode, throwing spikes down on the road
But I've seen this episode and still loved the show
Who else decodes you?

Greetings, Catalina. It is certainly commendable that you have secured the services of an individual to address the complications with your typewriter, and your enthusiasm for contributing to the shop as a volunteer is admirable. However, I regret to inform you that the mere examination of your typewriter does not equate to a definitive resolution of its issues. Furthermore, manipulation of a typewriter without the requisite technical proficiency and knowledge may exacerbate the existing problems. It is imperative that you engage the services of a seasoned professional to thoroughly assess the functionality of your Remington 333, ensuring its optimal operation. While typewriters do hold a certain allure, it is imperative to exercise caution when approaching repairs. Rest assured, this advice is imparted with your best interests in mind.

I took it to an expert who runs a literal typewriter repair shop.
What other seasoned professional is there?

It's called writing without an AI.

The shop I visited apparently gets a lot of celebrity clients who had their typewriters for decades. One of whom is Tom Hanks, according to an image on the shop's Instagram account. Naturally they're discreet when it comes to their more famous clients. But there are those who still prefer to do their work on a manual typewriter.

Any moron can open up a shop. You need to ring the manufacturer and have a certified technician perform the repairs. Don't tell them you took it to a shop, that will void any warranty.

You need a real typewriter. Brother started out late in the game in 1985. Perhaps Sister will open shop and make new versions of this.
