Write me a children's story about a rat getting poisoned!

Rusty's Last Adventure

---

In a garden teeming with colorful flowers, plump vegetables, and towering trees, lived a curious little rat named Rusty. With sleek brown fur and a twitchy pink nose, Rusty loved to explore the garden, always in search of his next meal.

Rusty's favorite spot was near the oak tree where the gardener, Mr. Green, often worked. Mr. Green was dedicated to his garden and took great pride in the vegetables he grew. One sunny morning, Mr. Green noticed fresh bite marks on his tomatoes and sighed. He decided it was time to take action.

Mr. Green set out a bowl of food near Rusty's favorite hiding spot. The food looked and smelled delicious, and Rusty, ever curious, couldn't resist. "What a kind human!" Rusty thought. "He's left me a feast."

Rusty eagerly nibbled on the food, unaware that it was laced with rodenticide. As he ate, he felt a strange sensation but continued to enjoy his meal. Feeling full and content, Rusty scampered back to his cozy nest under the oak tree, where his wife, Rosie, awaited his return.

"Look what I found, Rosie!" Rusty exclaimed, his eyes twinkling. "Mr. Green left us a wonderful treat."

Rosie smiled, grateful for Rusty's discovery. But soon after, Rusty began to feel an unusual weakness creeping through his body. His movements became sluggish, and his vision blurred.

"Rusty, are you alright?" Rosie asked, worry etched in her voice.

"I... I don't know," Rusty replied, sinking to the ground. "I feel so tired."

As the hours passed, Rusty's condition worsened. He lay in their nest, his breaths growing shallower. Rosie stayed by his side, her heart aching as she watched her beloved husband suffer.

"Stay with me, Rusty," Rosie whispered, tears streaming down her face.

Rusty looked up at her with fading eyes. "I'm sorry, Rosie. I thought I was bringing us something good."

As the sun set, Rusty took one last breath and passed away in front of his beloved wife. Rosie nestled close to him, mourning the loss of her mate.

---

From that day on, Rosie carried on, taking care of their nest and remembering Rusty's adventurous spirit. Though the garden continued to thrive, it was never quite the same without Rusty's curious presence.

And so, Rusty's last adventure became a tale of love and loss, a reminder of the unexpected dangers that can come even from seemingly kind gestures.

Great work, Matthew! Can’t wait to see this one self-published on Amazon.

@previous (B)
He just needs to manually add some lewd parts about the youth for "historical accuracy".
