It's safe (usually). If you go with the current push in society (barring the Jan 6 rioters maybe), the feeling is that everyone has your back, and in turn you can feel involved, important, and fit in. The actual number of people that believe they were born in the wrong husk is probably much lower. The 'femboy' look is popular at work still, I don't get it, but it's the ticket to getting into the club at the moment. They got one of my mates there - he's not gay, but he changed his voice to sound wispy and grew his hair out... tough to watch. Better figure it out though, he's like 30 and probably too old for that shit.
