Real story time: Around spring 2005 we were having a rehearsal for a high school band concert on a thursday. My best friend Aaron was born into a very poor family, but one thing he loved was alternative and punk rock. There's nothing to do in New Lebanon. Seriously, there isn't even a stoplight in that town.
Aaron had won tickets to a Simple Plan concert and he would have gotten limo service to Albany where it was hosted. He was going to bring our mutual friend Kaylie along and we would have been able to hang out with the band.
Our band teacher wouldn't budge. Not even a "sorry" or a polite explanation about why this generic run of the mill rehearsal meant so much to him. All we got was a "No." no matter how much I begged him to let him go. I don't expect anyone to make favors on request, but it still pisses me off to this day because Aaron deserved something like that more than anyone I've ever known.
I don't know why I thought of this but it still comes back to me sometimes and it just bothers me to no end. I don't know.

The band teacher at my school married a student. They were dating the year after she graduated. They have a few kids now. He was gross. I don't know what she was thinking. Im pretty positive nothing was going on when she was a student, but going after an 18 year old who was your student who just got out of a very long relationship is very manipulative. He should have known better, she was ok looking, too. It wasn't like she was too hot to bother with morality.
Shes happy I think, so I guess it worked out. She gained over 100 lbs though, it's mostly gone now (she's preggers and looks pretty good now).

I actually fucked with him a lot. Such as: discussing why synthesizers were better than drums (which is what played in band), always calling our band uniforms "costumes" because they were stupid looking, breaking his electronic metronome by accident, and playing my DS during a jazz band concert when it wasn't my turn. It was summer 08 and it was literally 100 degrees inside the gymnasium. I was so unhappy I just needed some sort of distraction to keep me stable. He yelled at me in private and told me to apologize to the entire band. but when I asked my classmates about it, it was obvious nobody gave a shit and I just went to lunch. It wasn't something I should have done, but nobody cared.
The first time I did marching band he gave my skinny 120 pound, 13 year old ass the heavy as fuck bass drum and ignored me when I told him it was too heavy to carry the entire way during BOTH rehearsals. I almost passed out during the actual parade because back then I had no muscle mass or stamina. He was embarrassed and had to carry it for me, lol.
