Topic: FAKE ANON your ban script is flawed

Anonymous A started this discussion 1 year ago #118,957

Let's say that a poster gets a 1-day ban on Monday at 6pm. They do not get unbanned until Wednesday at 6pm, hence two days.

Search the headline before you post. Do you see dozen of identical threads you made before? Then try something else.

Only you will be running into this problem.

What did you get banned for, OP?

Stop posting stupid shit and you won't get banned.

Everyone is missing the point. I am not complaining about being banned. I am noting that the ban script itself doubles bans.

Should have given you a month ban in that case.

You've been

double banned

If you are used to waiting out your bans and are never deterred from stopping the problematic behavior then these psychological methods are needed.

You should be posting threads expressing your deepest gratitude no one has written a script to shadowban you, posting threads no one can see but you, getting bland responses from bots to give you the impression you have been unbanned.

There's always a deeper rung of hell, and imo you are being treated with too much leniency.

OK then don't get banned.

Why did you do such a bad job programming the PHP script that implements the ban feature?

How do people get banned here? I’ve never been banned.

This topic makes me laugh. Fake anon did not originally code the ban script, and indeed is not in charge of altering the code currently. You are complaining to the wrong person, OP.

Also, trying to be banned less is sound advice. If anything, the script supposedly making your bans longer is a good incentive!

The banning system is actually working as intended, it's just the rest of the forum that has trouble keeping time

a double ban for a double nigger

@OP
I don't think that's possible. Bans are simple durations, not dates. When a UID is banned for 1 day, refresh the page and you'll see 23 hours now remain. I'll check the logs anyway.

"One day" is 48 hours in the ban code's mind.

Were you close to a black hole and/or travelling close to the speed of light? It may have been time dilation 🤔🤔🤔

Well you should probably read a physics book sometime!

I tested banning a UID for 1 day. Current status is: "The ban was filed 5 hours ago and will expire in 18 hours." I'll check again in 18 hours. I expect the ban will have expired.

I haven't looked at the server logs to see how long you were banned for, but are you sure it wasn't 2 days, lol?

Or maybe The Board's advanced AI (a large nested if-else statement) decided your ban merits use of Time Cube™ time.

It was one day but it lasted 48 hours. This has happened more than once.
