Topic: How come the British always loved cross-dressing?

It's practically been a staple in British comedy for decades now. So much so, that eventually it started getting overplayed and simply became unfunny. I'm sure there are going to be those Brits who think people think this is unfunny for some woke reason, but the reality is that they beat the joke to death for decades that their entire culture may as well be centered around wearing women's clothing.
Why do the Brits love cross-dressing so much? I'm pretty sure every single actor who ever portrayed The Doctor on Doctor Who has done scenes where they're in dressed in women's clothing.
This is really such a British staple besides drinking?

I know about the origins of it. People in the Middle Ages were complete faggots. But why carry this out into a comedy sketch that gets beaten more times than a dead horse?

More likely Monty Python / Little Britain. If he'd watched Bridgerton there would be a post about how come we never hear about black aristocrats.

The family has netflix on and I have to walk past it to get snacks. I saw a Chinese viking last month on one of the shows. If the progressives can't see these things as a problem, they can't be helped, they are too far gone.

I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay. I sleep all night and I work all day.
I cut down trees, I wear high heels, suspenders, and a bra.
I wish I was a girlie, just like my dear papa.
