Topic: I think my dad had a bad father's day

I forgot all about it until 8pm, texted him to tell him happy father's day and he responded "thanks for the message. love you" Which makes for a grand total of two times he has ever told me that he loves me.

Part of me feels really bad for him, because he lives a terribly sad, lonely life. I'm certain that none of his other 4 kids talked to him today. But part of me also says it isn't my problem, that he's brought it on himself.

Just a sad situation all around.

Eh, same. Family is burned out - not anyone's fault but life is a slog. At least mine got to retire finally.
