Unless you play outdoors with hoods, castling is not considered a legal move. Try that in a FIDE tournament and you will be told to leave.

I literally just googled fide castling rules, and pretty early in the rulebook talking about how pieces move, they literally mention castling as a legal move. Just because you've never done it where it mattered doesn't mean it's illegal

That's why when grandmasters play each other they use weird openings like the hippo or the cow which haven't been studied to death, to avoid that element of the game. It's much better when it's a game of skill rather than all about who can remember more book moves.
