modern my ass, sparsely drawn monochrome was what we started with.

unless they mean 1930s modern, since later we were in the post-modern already

so modern is really taking a style from last century.

I have been looking at replacing later Windows folder icon with an earlier one, Windows 98 or earlier. The upright open file folder drawing introduced in Vista never sat well with me. So I found that you can download lots of earlier Windows system icons here and there. Some people have upscaled or completely redid some to look fine on later Windows too. Some of those are on the Deviant Art site, but you have to be some kind of fucking member of them to download them. Do I really want to be a member of something called Deviant Art?
