Would you do this alone? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSmozVGoiFA

Is it really a "solo snow survival" if you bring an expensive wood burner oven, snow shoes, camping equipment, food and water, shovels, extra clothing, saws, firestarting equipment, cutlery, fishing rods and tackle, ice screws...? Or is he just camping? I think he is just camping.

That guy brought everything, from split firewood, a stove and lighter fluid. A snow shovel, food, a cot, sleeping bag and a tarp...who couldn't "survive" with all those impliments? He is camping out. Nothing more, nothing less.

A real survivalist goes out with minimal gear, uses things from the land to survive. Can survive months to years living off the land

A camper brings everything from home to camp for several days. He can't survive without premade meals, precut firewood from a store, camper, and must have electronics to play retarded games and/or post on MC. Once he loses all that, it's either go home, or die because he's to stupid to find his way out of the woods.

Fact be known I highly doubt this guy even spent the night in his shelter. Most guys I have watched show videos with time stamps of going to bed and waking up. This clown shows him taking out a sleeping bag at dark, and the next scene he looks bright eyed in the late morning. Watch guys like Joe Robinet,Steve Wallis or Kusk Bushcraft. They show their watches with time, film getting up putting wood on the fire and waking up at dawn shivering their ass off getting a fire going. Their eyes look puffy and still half closed from just waking up. This guy.....nope!

Only thing with Steve Wallis, he does stealth camping. I know he stays all night at his site, but he doesn't go around collecting firewood or building a shelter. Everything he has he brings with him. Honestly, I think his videos lean more towards homeless people.

There’s a YouTube guy who regularly goes out in like -20 degrees with nothing, it was pretty entertaining until I found out he’s a nazi/white supremacist

You're right about Wallis. Early in his YT days he was more of a camper/backpacker and then moved into those stealth videos. I mentioned him because you can tell he really sleeps at those locations. You ever see the one where he walked across this street into that roundabout circle and spent the night in some bushes? That was one of my favorites. He does camp like a homeless person.

I use to like when some of them would do that, 10 or 20 dollar challenge. Take a set amount of money, go to Walmart or Dollar store and spend it on what they could to camp for the night or weekend. Tat's how I found Robinet.

Yea, I saw that one. I enjoyed it as well, especially when he puts on a vest and pretends to be a county employee picking up trash to get into it.

Did you know his buddy "Crazy Neighbor" passed away?

There's a group of guys on YT that do that now called JSTU. Each individual drops a ball down a plinko board, and wherever it lands, that's their budget for buying building materials, food and entertainment. They are hilarious.

Yeah I saw where crazy neighbor passed. His wife passed sometime last year and I think his mom too. The guy has had a rough go of it here recently.

Never heard of JSTU but I'll check it out. Sounds like something I'd like.

JSTU does a lot of different things, but when they have to do the budget challenge, those are my favorites.

Exposure to the elements... Heat, cold, hypothermia...

Without water a healthy person will start having effects of dehydration around 72 hours. Someone who has health issues or say a child or senior can start experiencing them within 36. Without water for 3 days many people's body will shut down. Hot and cold doesn't have to be extreme for hypothermia to start. Being out in the elements is totally different. Sleeping on the ground in 50 degree weather, especially after a rain and you get wet will do the trick or being out in the sun in 80 degree weather without water can bring on heatstroke in one day.

I once got heat stroke at a music festival. I was out all day without enough water. It was horrible. Luckily, I got into an air conditioned car and cooled down and go some water, but it was scary.
