Often people say to me, "Father Dave, what is it about working in a church that you love?", and I reply that I teach many how to properly bend over and grab their ankles.
The most valuable lesson is that of being humiliated. Being a priest means that I am often in a situation where people are laughing at me. It hurts my feelings when people laugh at me. Why won't they stop?
Another lesson is the power of grip. My clergy bring people together by age, breaking emotional barriers and filling up their inner spirits.
