He was merely a professor so appalled by his institution looked to better the world by dismantling it. The superhero group known as Big Hero 6, in the film of the same name, didn't save anything but some old civic buildings. During their encounter in the skies with Yokai. There would've been evacuations of the premises. Nobody would've been in those buildings unless they somehow missed said evacuations or merely had a death wish. In the end, who gives a flying fuck about some civic buildings of some institution that was corrupt? If there was nobody in them then you didn't save shit. Nothing of value would've been lost. I doubt Yokai would've wanted to destroy the library anyway and most of the records there would've been copies. Yokai did no evil.
