The government will borrow (print) more money to cover the shortfall in interest payments to the private bank while the livestock spends the extra few bucks in their pockets on chinese made gadgets that we borrowed money for in the first place.

The plan is for it to be paid for in full, no added debt, supposedly accomplished through closing some tax-loopholes and making some cuts to other stuffs, Obama touted the plan as being paid-in-full. The whole idea of being conservative is less government intervention and less government spending. This "American Jobs Act" is just a thinly veiled stimulus package, the last time Obama was given a blank check it did nothing but dig a deeper hole in our budget, or did you forget about the first stimulus?
You cannot buy your way out of a recession, its a pipe dream, simple as that. All this stimulus will do is gouge out a fairly large portion of tax revenue this nation desperately needs at this moment. Even if the stars align, and this plan has any minute benefit, it will only be a very short term solution to a very long term problem.

The Republican tout 'less government' and all that bullshit, but they eight years in office and all they did was add more rules, take away more rights, and add more government, with the exceptions of catering to the super-rich of course, deregulating big-banking, big-oil and less taxes for the richest. I'm sure I don't have to tell you how deregulating big-banking worked out lol. As far as the stimulus goes, Bush is the one that started that with the first payouts, and Obama had little choice but continue the practice, the implications of not bailing out were far worse than paying out, also lets not forget who directly got us into that position, oh that's right, the Republicans. While the first bailouts were a necessary evil, this package will go where it would do best -- directly into the economy (rather than supporting debts of big-banks). I agree the problem is long-term, I agree the first bailouts sucked ass, but I don't agree with the way the Republicans do almost anything, they are fucking liars and only pander to the richest, I won't claim Democrats are without problems, but Republicans are truly the worst, they simply don't give a fuck about anything except corporations, big-money companies and taking away our rights, despite anything they say.

I think we should be spending less time and money bailing out and regulating the rich and spend more time and money providing Americans with a proper healthcare and a workfare(for the unemployed)/welfare(for those with REAL disabilities, not obesity or Autism or some other shit like that) system.

They had to add more rules to the government, it was a necessary evil at that particular moment in time. People were scared shitless and pissed over 9/11, they wanted blood and they more security. Deregulation of the banks occurred under Clinton's Administration. Why should the wealthy carry the poor on their backs? Socialism has never worked, it is not the job of a government to grant relief to individual suffering which would not benefit the public. You forget that the bush stimulus was passed in a democrat controlled Congress. I do agree at the time the stimulus was necessary, both the Bush and 1st Obama stimulus. This bill is nothing more than the bid of a man who has squandered his time in office and is now desperate for re-election. At most this bill will puff up the economy until election season has well passed. Although unemployment is a popular way to gain (re)election, getting people jobs will do very little in benefit to the economy.
The potential of this bill will be absolutely wasted unless start focusing on how to mitigate any further damage, whether that be caused by the crisis unfolding in Europe, or the shock from commodities.

I've got a brilliant way to solve this job crisis!
1. reform the USD to be stable and non-deflating
2. lower the minimum wage to $3.00 while the state pays up to $4.00 (which keeps the minimum wage at $7.00 while giving incentive for companies to hire more people)
3. flat income/profit tax of 15-20%
