I sent someone $875 for a synthesizer, and since they had never received money with it before it got fucking frozen because it was so much.
Now this poor kid is pulling his hair out trying to make it right but he can't send the goddamn thing out until he gets my money in his bank (because of his parents), and he might not be able to send my money back with his account frozen. Paypal said he could, but he told me he can't. I'm still waiting on a definitive answer about that.
I trust this guy cause even though he's only 17, he seems completely honest and we talked on the phone even.
I have no idea what to do for him or me. I feel (sort of) secure because paypal said I could try to open a case, but I marked it as gift to avoid fees. But of course, that plan failed too because even fees come out of gift transactions now.

technically, this guy should send you your stuff, since you did pay him using the agreed upon method... it's really up to you if you want to cut him some slack, but Paypal is niggers and you could be waiting months for this guys account to unfreeze...

Have him go back to his account and have him look for a 'Repay' or 'Refund' button. Otherwise he has to send identification to paypal to get his account unfrozen but that could take forever.

It's possible to check if the recipient account is suspended or not. Otherwise opening a paypal case would work well enough to get a refund.

Actually sounds legit to me, it has been years since I set up my Paypal account, but I'm pretty sure I couldn't do any transactions until everything was confirmed (around 10 days), course I have a premier business account so things may be different, also it was a long time ago.

Paypal is retarded. I owned my friend 30 bucks but there was some distance between us so I just transferred it from my Paypal account and they locked it because of "suspicious behavior"
