Or did he think, that maybe he should send enemies to the soon to be Frontline? The paranoia could make one think that risking it all unprepared for war is worth it from certain defeat.

By all accounts, the reports of Hitler's invasion of the Soviet Union considerably shocked Stalin, and he refused to speak to or see anybody for several days after finding out.

What if he just didn’t care and saw it as an opportunity to effectively annex half of Europe? I continue to be amazed that we went to war against Germany to preserve democracy in Poland, Czechoslovakia, etc. then at the end of it just tossed it as a present to Stalin and communism.
It was the most disgraceful and embarrassing incident in our history. We should have let the UK and France get their shit pushed in.

Just because someone declares war on you doesn’t mean you have to do it. Go look at a world map and you will see the United States is very far from Europe.
The Japanese thing was also terrible. World War 2 was totally unnecessary and accomplished nothing of good.

It’s important to remember that things like Pearl Harbor and 9/11 happened for literally no reason. The Japanese hated us for our freedom.

I'd rather not give the Japanese a reason to hate us. That's why we attacked them in the first place. The Japanese didn't hate us because we were a great country. No, they hated us for being our fucking brothers.
