So that really nice restaurant I applied for, they have had me take drug and background checks, fill out employment paperwork, and said things like, "We look forward to working with you! We'll call you and let you know when to come in." Well, it has been several days now, and I have heard nothing. What should I do in this situation? Should I call them and ask, or just leave it?

I know it is good to go back after an interview, but even after they basically hire you? Isn't it weird to hire someone then you do not hear from them again?
