OK for reals, I've looked at chickweeds, stitchworts, sandworts, and the like. I'm cursing the bastards that do not indicate if the inflorescence bracts are just pairs of leaves at the base of a stalk, or form an involucre on the underside of the flower itself.

@previous (boof)
I can't personally see the appeal, but I'm glad that you're looking into this and I'm glad there's an entire literature behind it all. We shouldn't leave any stone left unturned physically or metaphysically in our quest to understand the absurdity of existence.
I'm considering picking up a book I have on group theory again. I couldn't get myself motivated the first time around for a # of reasons, but it just keeps coming up again and again and again in other stuff I'm looking into, so I feel like I ought to. I don't think there's any deep insight in it, but maybe there's some deep insight near it, even if it's as I suspect and not the right perspective to see things.
And on a lighter note, I'm thinking of returning to a book I have on the end of the Comanches 'n shit.

What I wanted to do was figure out what the fuck plants are that I see often but don't even know there names. Turns out there're lots of similar plants and a lot of picky detail to tease out differences. Here's a swell site of a terminology glossary with photos I just found: https://mgnv.org/plants/glossary/
