Yeah the whole republican convention audience clapped when Perry announced that Texas executed however many people he did. The moderators even were a little disturbed by that fact and pointed it out, but no one shared the moderator's opinions.

I don't like my country. I don't believe it's possible to get though to these people. They don't want to change their opinions. They want to be blood thirsty, bigoted, ignorant slaves of the rich.
I don't even have a side. I can't support Obama. He thinks he can grt results by giving the republicans what they want. He is partly responsible for the conservatives taking a huge leap to the right.
Also, I feel that sending our military to libya is a very clear message he is another puppet of the military industrial complex. These are people makin obscene amounts of money off the suffering of others. They have killers at their command. I get he's maybe been told he'll be assassinated if he doesnt keep the income stream coming.
I think theres a reason "defense" spending isnt touched ever in cuts. It explains why the billions wasted aren't thoroughly investigated.
If someone like perry becomes president, a literal cowboy with a gun, I fear we might see real war. Not just military actions against people who have little chance of really defending themselves.

I agree that we are in peacetime, but this course can be altered and the killing stopped. There is that possibility. I can't stop myself from getting fat, so I don't think I could personally stop this. I only think about it because it's a distraction from my life anyway.

we arent the freest country, by far. We do a lot better than the really repressive ones, but there are a ton of countries that have us beat. We just have some wacky freedoms most civilized places see as dangerous. Gun laws being the big one.

Texas' death row and the number of inmates executed is right in line with the Populations of other states. Texas is the largest state and therefor should have more numbers but its only because of population that it appears excessive. Sure rhode island executes way less, but it's a much less populous state.
