They think that Trump releasing sneakers will make black people think he's cool, because they've only experienced black people through outraged clips on Fox News
The Trump sneakers were a commercial success. Sneakerheads have been successfully reached out to sneakerheads. Many sneakerheads are black. By connecting with them through sneakers, he is connecting with them in a way beyond the way politicians usually connect. When they look at or wear the Trump sneakers, Trump is (metaphorically) physically with them.
I think that there are white people who have bought the shoes, yes. However, the fox news guys point was about reaching out and connecting to inner city blacks, and one of the ways that Trump is doing this is by releasing products that appeal to that demographic.
It's actually the opposite, the claim was that the sneakers were helping black people engage with politics (specfically Trumps politics) on a whole different level than that delivered by other politicians.
I think if he released trump brand high heels and they sold out fast and he said that releasing high heels helped trump to connect with women on a different level than the traditional "voter/politician" level then I would consider it

And thinking that Trump can use sneakers to make Black people relate to him is racist
They are toys sold in Walmart and Target where you mix resin to make little replica food and items
But the resin wouldn't set and when you're exposed to unset resin, you can develop a very serious allergy that affects your ability to recieve medical care and dental care
